Pond Inlet Accommodation, Tourism and Links |
With a population of just over 1300, Pond Inlet is one of the larger communities on north Baffin Island. In summer, it is a regular stop for cruise ships plying the Northwest Passage. It is also a great place for wildlife and Inuit art. In winter, the community experiences 24 hour darkness, as it is well above the Arctic circle. Spring brings the return of the sun, and events like the annual Nunavut Quest regional dog team race. Click on the photo at left to enlarge. Pond Inlet has a range of accommodation, and outfitters experienced in taking visitors out for an unforgettable trip no matter what the season.
