On Baffin Island, the regional airlines and charter operators are based in Iqaluit.  Canadian No

rth is the main scheduled carrier.  Calm Air serves the Kivalliq region, from a hub in Rankin Inlet. And Canadian North serves Nunavut's Kitikmeot Region.  Air Inuit provides service in the Nunavik region of Northern Quebec. Air Canada/WestJet do not serve Iqaluit or Nunavut directly.  Air Canada Jazz dropped its Montreal/Ottawa/Iqaluit run in August of 2011

Canadian North logoCanadian North offers daily scheduled Boeing 737 service between Iqaluit and a number of nothern and southern communities.  Connections in south and west include Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.  They also serve may Nunavut communties and make connections with Air Inuit in Nunavit, and Calm Air in the Kivalliq regional of Nunavut.  They also  connect with Air Canada and other national and international carriers in Ottawa, Mont

Canadian North is a merged airline, bringing together the two main carriers in Nunavut: First Air and Canadian North.  It is owned by the Inuit of Nunavik and the Inuvialuit of the Northwest Territories.

Canadian North is one of the main air freight operators in Northern Canada. And they also provide larger aircraft charters.

Canadian North's airline designator is 5T.

 

Kenn Borek logoIn addtion to charter and medevac services in Arctic Canada, and around the world, Kenn Borek Air provides scheduled service to a couple of the smaller communities in the Baffin Region of Nunavut, including Canada's most northern community, Grise Fiord.  Kenn Borek Air services the region with Beech King Air, Twin Otter and DC3 aircraft.

 

 

Calma Air logoCalm Air serves a number of communities in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut, including Rankin Inlet, Arviat, and Baker Lake.  It also provides service to a number of northern Manitoba communities, and the city of Winnipeg. Their fleet includes SAAB 340B, ATR-42 and Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft.

In addition to passenger service, Calm Air provides cargo service in the Kivalliq Region.

Kivalliq Air, also known as Keewatin Air is the other regional carrier providing scheduled service in the Kivalliq Region of Nunavut. They also provide air ambulance services in the Kivalliq and Baffin regions.

 

 

 

 

Air Inuit

Air Inuit is the regional airline serving the Nunavik region of Northern Quebec. Like First Air, it is owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivik Corporation.

Air Inuit does not make direct connections between the south and Nunavut, but it does provide service from Montreal to most Nunavik communities, as well as service within the Nunavik region of Northern Quebec.
