Qikiqtarjuaq is located on a small island off the east coast of Baffin Island in Nunavut.  For many years, the community was known as Broughton Island. The name was changed to the Inuktitut name Qikiqtarjuaq ("large island") in 1998.

The population is about 593 (2021 Census). Qikiqtarjuaq does have an active tourism sector, providing local whale watching, hunting and other activities, along with access to the north entrance to Auyuittuq National Park. The region is on the main iceberg route south, and so the community gets a lot of bergs!

Qikiqtarjuaq is the last airport on the east coast of Baffin Island on the route across to Greenland.
